Syra Coffee begun in 2015 as small take-away coffee stand. Located in the heart of the village-like Gracia neigborhood, we were commissioned to design their first shop with some special requirements as the recycling of wooden battens and marble stairs from the owner’s old house. We developed with the design team a global approach (see Syra Coffee Identity) that showcased a hole-in-the wall meticulously drawn to fit 3 seats, 3 stools an the coffee counter. The functional use of the 27m² space led us to divide the site in two parts, and to work with the given materials with a grid.

Theroretical Project
Why does the New York Soho need a Mosque & Community Center a as public intervention on Lafayette Street. The interest of this project is to question, under the prism of social resilience, the integration of an open mosque and the image of an American Muslim community too often hidden. Listed in a network of public programs, this mosque radiates to the scale of the object, with a specific architecture of a New York’s Islam.
